We have all grown up listening to stories from puranas and epics, but in today's busy and modern life not many people are aware of these stories or rather not interested to read it, may be because of the modern lifestyle or due to the volume of these books. 

I have always enjoyed reading these stories and it always gives an immense pleasure when you read it again and again and you never feel tired of it. This book gave me a chance to feel that excitement and fun and reminisce those stories again. 

Our epics and puranas have a structure of frame tales i.e., story within a story and the author has very cleverly selected such parts of the stories which will keep the readers interested and excited till the end. And also it gives moral lessons to the readers and encourages them to dvelve more into the ocean of puranas and epics. 
This book is a collection of 7 mythological short stories taken from Ramayana, Mahabharat, Gautam Buddha's life and the author has brilliantly narrated the stories for the modern readers. 

The seven short stories in this book are :

1.The cosmic dance - the story of mahadev and sati viyog
2. The eighth son - The story of the birth of Krishna
3. The battle of Panchavati - The story where Lakshmana cuts Shoorpanakha's nose
4. Killing of Keechak - A story from Mahabharat
5. Gangadhar - The story of Bhageerath and how he got ganga to earth
6. The curse of Draupadi - A story from Mahabharat
7. Gautam - The story of Gautam Buddha

The author has done a brilliant job in accumulating these stories in a single book and tried to keep up the originality of the stories. I just loved each and every chapter, my favorite being the curse of Draupadi and Gangadhar. 

The language used in this book is simple and lucid and the writing skill of the author is amazing. The stories are narrated in such a very good manner so as to keep the readers engaged with the emotions of the stories. 

I loved reading this book and I definitely recommend it to every one.
