Book Review #23 : A Lonely World by Himanshu Goel

Author : Himanshu Goel
Genre : Poetry
Ratings : ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐/5

A lonely world is a wonderful collection of poems by Himanshu Goel.

The main theme of the book is solitude and loneliness and one can actually relate to each and every poem in this book.

There are times when we feel so lonely that we can't share our feelings with anyone. No one to talk , no one to help. The author has very well described the emotions of a lonely person.

This book is a very short read and contains only 48 poems which you can finish reading in just one sitting. All of the poems are just one or two lines length which makes it more interesting and easy to grasp.

This book starts with introduction which says read these poems when you feel lonely, anxious or vulnerable. And reading this book does give you some kind of comfort and a feeling that you are not alone in this world. There are people like you everywhere who shares your feelings.
The poems are written in a very thoughtful manner and it's interesting when you understand the in depth meaning of the poems.

All of the poems touch very deep into our hearts. It feels so real that you can actually feel how secluded and lonely you are from the world.

Poems deal with various subjects like vulnerability, memories, trust, addiction etc and its very hard to pick favorites. I loved all the poems in this book but if I had to pick a favorite it would be memories, inspiration and galaxy of thoughts.

The way author says how we all could find inspiration from tragedies and whether it's a curse or blessing is commendable. And  I loved the poem 'memories' where he says "how could I ever be lonely when the memories of you are always by my side". I just loved the thought of it.

The poems are filled with positivity asking everyone to look inside and explore the beauty of life being part of this lonely world.

The language used by the author is very simple and lucid and all of the poems are vey short and to the point.

I totally loved and enjoyed reading this book. I recommend everyone to give this book a read.

If you are a poetry lover, then this book is definitely for you.
