🌟Those who have read the tales of Harry Clifton from The Clifton chronicles, will know that he wrote about the adventures of William Warwick, a detective with Scotland Yard. This book is about William Warwick and his journey towards being a detective. And the book begins with the words- “This is not a detective story, this is a story about a detective.”

🌟🌟( But if you have not read the Clifton Chronicles, thats fine. This is just the start of the William Warwick series. )

🌺The book traces the life of William Warwick, fresh out of college, wanting to become a detective, against the wishes of his father, who wanted him to take up Law. He joins the Metropolitan Police as a beat constable and is later transferred to Scotland Yard.

🌺Here William's knowledge of Arts lands him on DCI Bruce Lamont’s Art and Antiques unit under Cmdr. Jack Hawksby where four cases await his attention, each one interesting than the other.

🌺During his investigation of missing Rembrandt from Fitzmolean museum he meets the love of his life - Beth, who has a mystery of her own.
Story unveils how he handles the investigation of all the cases whether or not will he be successful in his attempt.

🌺Will he be able to confront the thief and recover the Rembrandt? Will he ever find out the mystery of Beth? Well you have to read the book in order to find out!!!

🍀The book is filled with lots of twists and turns and you get to learn about a variety of topics like Art, Law, Policing etc.The story seems to be a little confusing in certain places but it will definitely keep us hooked till the end. With a cliffhanger at the end we are kept in anticipation for the next book in this series!

🍀Mr Archer writes in introduction that "Should he (William Warwick) ever make it to commissioner will depend as much on William Warwick’s determination and ability as my hopes for longevity – mine, not yours.” I pray that Mr Archer is blessed with really long and healthy life because I would definitely like to read about entire journey of William Warwick .
