Book Review #29 : Indestructible by Krista Nerestant

Author : Krista Nerestant
Genre : Memoir
Ratings : ⭐⭐⭐⭐/5

Krista Nerestant shares the painful journey of her life through her memoir. Her father was an abusive and alcoholic person who used to beat his wife and children to teach them a lesson. This led her mother to flee to USA to earn money for their living. But the assult of her father to her siblings never stopped. They all developed a different way of coping with this pain and it reflected on their actions.

Krista was her father's doll as she was always submissive towards his actions. This caused envy between her and her siblings which created a barrier among them.

Krista relocated to USA with her four siblings John, Toni, PJ and Rex to be with their mother. Born in Philippines they found it difficult to cope up in USA. She played the role of mother, sister and took a great care of her siblings in every way possible and through this she attracts a lot of negative energy.

To overcome this negative and unwanted energy and live a peaceful life she let go of all her bitterness and angry and tried to be compassionate and an empath. From a young age she took all the responsibilities to live upto the expectations of her late mother.

There is so much pain in the author's life and the reader can actually feel it. She endured all the pain and became a strong woman and was ready to adapt to changes that lie ahead.

In her memoir, the author shares her childhood memories which helped her to achieve her dreams. She narrates her life struggles and how she overcame those in a beautiful way. The story is very inspiring and suggests you to take control of your life and it's problems.

This story gives you a lot to learn  and I liked every chapter which gives a unique touch to the story. The language used is simple and lucid. Inspirational quotes at the beginning of each chapter brings out positivity to the readers.

I recommended this book to all those who love to read non fiction and memoirs.
